Hello Friends and Family,
As we rapidly make our way through 2024 we are so grateful for all of the blessings that we have been a part of. As always, we are so excited to share these blessings that God has given us and the ministry with all of you!
Summer Visitors: This summer we received 14 mission teams (186 individuals) that served and invested in our children and staff, whose hearts and lives were transformed far more than they ever could have expected. I absolutely love being an intermediary between visitors, our kids and the holy spirit, and witnessing how so many genuine connections and transformations form.
Nations School: Continues to provide a christ-centered education for children on campus and from the surrounding communities, offering scholarships to those who need it. There have been many changes in the ministry, and Ame has stepped up in a new area of service that greatly needed her. Ame is now serving at Nations School as an Administrative Staff. She loves being surrounded and impacting this next generation. Please keep her in your prayers as she continues to lay a foundation there.
San Martin: We are continuing to do our weekly outreach to this mountainous and very impoverished community, reaching dozens of new souls for Christ with every visit! Read below how God has blessed our family during this season through this outreach to San Martin!
A Family That Serves Together
The last few weeks, our busy season with the Short-Term Mission teams has slowed down a bit. This has been an amazing season for us as a family in which we have been able to cover another huge need in the ministry. Ame, Theo and I have had the opportunity for the past few weeks to lead up the outreaches to San Martin. We have been making the 3 hour drive every Saturday to spend a few hours with dozens of needy and at-risk children to build relationships with them and to show them the love that God has for them. Ame has the privilege of sharing a devotional with the mothers present. I share lessons and activities with the kids, and Theo enjoys running around, coloring and playing with the children as well!
During this outreach we are able to bless the mother with some donated clothes. This is very significant as the mothers basically live alone with the children in this community, as the fathers travel to other areas of Mexico or, in some cases, the US for work. More often than not, the men will come back every so often, have relations, leaving the women pregnant for the 4th, 5th or even 8th time again, and then he heads back out for months or years on end to continue working.
These cycles continue within this community for generations. It is the heart of our ministry to make a lasting impact in the lives of these children and mothers with the hope that we can break these cycles and allow them to create meaningful lives with Christ in the center!
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. - James 1:27
